What is included with the inverter?
This product describes one Wirentech 12kW 120/240V split-phase hybrid inverter with an integrated 200A grid-bypass enclosure. Batteries, solar panels, generator equipment, external breakers, disconnects, cables, and other system components are not included unless the exact product listing states otherwise. Confirm the complete model suffix and included accessories before ordering.
What does the 200A bypass rating mean?
The 200A rating applies to the grid pass-through path inside the bypass-equipped enclosure. It allows grid power to pass through the inverter enclosure to backed-up loads when the system is configured accordingly. It does not mean the battery inverter can deliver 200A in backup mode, and it does not increase battery capacity or outage runtime.
Can it support both 120V and 240V loads?
Yes. The inverter provides 120/240V split-phase output for compatible whole-home circuits, HVAC equipment, water systems, EV charging, and other selected loads. Battery-mode continuous output remains 12kW, while loading assigned to a single phase is limited to 7.2kW. Plan phase balance and simultaneous demand with a qualified installer.
How much continuous and peak power does it provide?
The inverter provides 12kW of continuous battery-mode output and up to 18kVA of peak power, with 10ms typical transfer and motor-starting capability up to 6HP under the specified conditions. Verify the running watts and starting surge of every connected appliance or motor. The 200A bypass rating is separate from these output limits.
What solar input does the inverter support?
The documented Plus configuration uses two MPPT groups supporting up to 12kW each, or 24kW total PV input, with a 90–450V MPPT range and 500V maximum open-circuit voltage. Maximum charging is listed as 160A from AC and 250A from PV. These are electrical limits, not promised solar production or recharge times.
Can it use solar, grid, generator, and battery power?
Yes. The hybrid platform can coordinate solar input, grid or bypass power, generator charging, and battery storage for solar self-use, scheduled charging, outage reserve, and multiple recovery paths. Final source configuration, transfer logic, and charging settings must follow the exact inverter manual and applicable electrical codes.
Which battery platform should be used?
The inverter is designed around a 51.2V nominal battery platform with a documented 40–58.6Vdc operating range and 44V minimum start voltage. The battery bank must be sized for the inverter's continuous current and motor-start surge rather than the 200A bypass rating. Confirm battery current capability, BMS protocol, and charging settings before connection. USB and RS485 communication are supported.
What protection functions does the inverter provide?
Manual-documented safeguards address overload, short circuit, PV reverse polarity, AC reverse conditions, overvoltage, and temperature across the grid, PV, and battery paths. These internal functions do not replace correctly sized breakers, fuses, disconnects, conductors, grounding, ventilation, or professional installation.
Can multiple bypass inverters operate in parallel?
Parallel operation applies only to the documented -500P_PLUS suffix, with configurations of up to six units. The -500_PLUS version must not be assumed to support parallel operation. Verify the complete model number, parallel accessories, bypass integration, communication requirements, and installation instructions before ordering or commissioning.
What should I verify before installation?
Verify the service-panel and bypass design, split-phase load plan, phase balance, battery current capability, PV configuration, generator connection, model suffix, conductor sizes, protection devices, airflow, and wall support. The enclosure measures 710 × 485 × 145 mm, weighs 37.5 kg or 82.7 lb, and has a listed operating range of -10°C to 55°C. A 5-year limited inverter warranty applies under its terms.
