FAQs
What is the 3.6kW hybrid inverter designed for?
It is designed for compact 120V backup, solar self-use, and essential-load systems. Typical compatible circuits may include refrigeration, lights, networking equipment, a gas-furnace blower, outlets, and a properly sized small pump.
Can this inverter power 240V appliances?
No. This is a 120V single-phase inverter. Do not use it for central 240V HVAC, an electric range, an electric dryer, Level 2 EV charging, or other loads that require 120/240V split-phase output.
How much continuous and peak power does it provide?
The inverter provides 3.6kW of continuous output and up to 5.4kVA of peak power, with 10ms typical transfer and motor-starting capability up to 2HP under the specified conditions. Always verify running watts and starting surge separately.
Which battery voltage should I select?
Select the exact inverter variant before connecting a battery. The SPI2436M120-500 is the 24V class model with a 20–33Vdc battery-input range. The SPI4836M80-300 and SPI4836M80-300P are 48V models with a 40–60Vdc input range. A 51.2V battery must never be connected to the 20–33Vdc model.
What solar input does each variant support?
The 24V class model supports up to 6kW PV, a 90–450V MPPT range, and 500V maximum PV open-circuit voltage. The 48V model supports up to 4.5kW PV, a 90–260V MPPT range, and 300V maximum PV open-circuit voltage. These are electrical limits, not promised recharge times.
What charging and communication features are included?
Depending on the selected variant, the listed AC charging current is 80A or 60A and the listed PV charging current is 120A or 80A. USB and RS485 communication are supported. Confirm the exact model nameplate, charge settings, and battery communication requirements before connection.
What protection functions does the inverter provide?
Manual-documented safeguards cover overload, short circuit, PV reverse polarity, AC reverse conditions, overvoltage, and temperature. These internal safeguards do not replace correctly sized breakers, fuses, disconnects, wiring, grounding, or professional installation.
Can multiple inverters operate in parallel?
Parallel support applies only to the documented 48V SPI4836M80-300P model, with configurations of up to six units. Do not assume that the 24V model or the non-P 48V model supports parallel operation.
What should I verify before installation?
Verify the exact model and suffix, battery-input range, 120V output architecture, PV voltage and power limits, BMS protocol, charging settings, and included accessories. The enclosure measures 428 × 280 × 110 mm, weighs approximately 7.8–8.2 kg by variant, and has a listed operating range of -10°C to 55°C. A 5-year limited inverter warranty applies under its terms.
